The location of this castle hotel is absolutely stunning. Situated near Cotswold, the area boasts lovely buildings and a magical atmosphere. You'll feel like medieval royalty when you step into the rooms, with their stone walls and beautiful tapestries. The service provided by the staff is excellent - they are friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The breakfast and dining rooms are straight out of a fairy tale, and the food is delicious. There's also a lovely lounge and library to relax in, and the gardens are a delight to wander through.

The car park surface could be improved.

We had an excellent stay and have recommended Thornbury Castle to three friends looking for special celebratory weekend breaks.

The staff was wonderful, friendly, informative and courteous.

Historic castle with comfortable, four-poster beds. Stunning grounds and gardens. Helpful and welcoming staff. Impressive library and sitting rooms. Superb food and breakfast options.

So peacefull beautiful surroundings very relaxing add a SPA and we would certainly visit again

Whole atmosphere of old castle

Second day of my stay heating was broken, room temperature dropped to 16 ! C, no effort to somehow compensat for it, just very formal sorry. No effort to even help with 3 heavy suitcases. Strange behaviour in that kind luxury hotel where you expect much more polite attitude.

The overall stay was absolutely wonderful. Beautiful gardens and common rooms. Stunning bedrooms with modern bathrooms. Delicious table-served breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing food. Genuinely kind staff. Great hotel experience.

Nothing it was perfect.

We LOVED Thornbury Castle. It was absolutely perfect! The grounds are beautiful and a pleasure to wander around. There is a beautiful church right next to the castle as well. There are walking trails if you enjoy that. Our room was beautiful. The bathroom was great and had great amenities, including fluffy bathrobes and slippers. The bed was very comfortable and the room was decorated beautifully. We dined there for dinner and breakfast. I have food allergies and they were very gracious and accomodated my needs. All the staff were very gracious and helpful.

There is nothing to complain about. Its a bit pricey, but totally worth the splurge!

We enjoyed our stay at the castle. It was sooo cool. The room was big and everything looked authentic. There was even a fireplace (gas). The lady who checked us in was super nice and gave us some history as well. It was a great experience.

The bed was way too soft. The restaurant is quite expensive.

We had a great time exploring the beautiful grounds and gardens, perfect for a relaxing walk after a long day. The proximity to the town was also a bonus, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The receptionist and morning waitstaff were welcoming and friendly, always ready to assist.

The waitstaff during dinner service was a disappointment. It took them quite a while to acknowledge us and take our order, and then the food took even longer to arrive.

I had literally never been in a more comfortable bed. This was not our usual type of hotel & was a special treat and it really came up to expectations.

Given the high qualty feel of the rooms and hospitality it was slightly disappointing to have the usual small cartons of uht milk.

Outstanding staff and customer service. The food in the restaurant was superb. The castle grounds were beautifully maintained. All in all we had a first class experience. I would definitely recommend Thornbury Castle to anyone visiting that part of the UK.

Beautiful surroundings and stunning atmosphere created a romantic ambiance. Attentive and friendly staff who made us feel special.- Enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service at the restaurant.

The lack of elevator made it difficult to navigate the ancient staircases. The afternoon tea buffet lacked variety and the quality of some items was questionable.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and informative, and our bags were taken to our room promptly. The hotel facilities, including the dining rooms, lounge, bar, and gardens. We enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea, served by a welcoming and cheerful couple. Our room, with a four-poster bed and complimentary toiletries, was comfortable and warm. The bathroom even had a heated floor, which was a nice touch. We also had dinner at the hotel twice, and the food, as well as the complimentary accompaniments, were excellent. we were impressed with the cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the beautiful grounds of this hotel.
